The more we traveled, the more we became aware that certain things we took for granted while living in New York were considered absolute luxuries in many parts of the world - access to clean water was one of them. It was on a Polio vaccination trip to India that the "Gift of Water" dream was born. The dream was to create a safe and sustainable source of water in a village in Eastern India where water was a scarce commodity. Villagers--especially children--spent nearly half their day fetching water for themselves and their families. In 2010, Nadine and her husband, Tarun, decided to use their wedding as a platform to achieve their "Gift of Water" dream. With the help of Local NGO’s, family, and friends, they began this project and to date have installed 14 tube wells in different villages located in West Bengal, India. Each well is being used regularly by 200 to 600 villagers.... A “gift that keeps on giving” .... http://www.giftofwater-nt.org/

Our passion at NHDS is to create something beautiful in the world combining it with our humanitarian duty to create something meaningful for our world. With this in mind, our team has participated in and organized various local and international fundraisers, projects, and events in an effort to make the world a better place for those who are less fortunate. Our team is proud to have partnered with NGOs in different parts of the world to work on school cleanup and paint projects, toy drives, and initiatives to distribute artificial limbs, among other efforts. NHDS principal, Nadine Homann, has been an active member of Rotary International in Germany as well as in New York for over 17 years. In her Rotary home club in Metro NYC,USA Nadine has held positions as Club President as well as board member positions.

Nadine serves on the advisory board for "I-believe" NGO, whose mission is to create sustainable communities around the world through education, training, empowerment and partnering with individuals and organizations who believe in humanity. "I-believe's" main goal is to inspire and encourage individuals to be part of the projects they care- be it global or local. Many of these projects could be easily executed in your small town or village wherever you reside in the world- the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia or the Middle East. I-believe can help you develop your own project or you can partner up with to contribute to one of their existing projects overseas. 100% of donations will go to the project  you select since operational costs are currently sponsored by GBRI, an online educational platform. https://www.i-believe.org

After working with NHdesign on his first Aveda styling studio that applied the concept of working with reclaimed materials, internationally accomplished hairstylist Gigi Dzidzovic approached NHdesign to collaborate on something bigger. His dream was to host an international hair show bringing top talent from all around Europe to Sarajevo, Gigi’s hometown, to raise funds for children suffering from leukemia. Nadine and Gigi established a team and executed the show at the Sarajevo National Theater under the theme ”We Think You Look Better in Green,” an environmentally-conscious theme, which is dear to both their hearts. Expanding on the concept of using  various reclaimed materials that they applied to the design of Gigi's Aveda salon, they utilized recycled plastic bottles and paper to create beautiful costumes and hairstyles for this vibrant show.
